Getting Unstuck and Moving Forward in Life

We all get stuck at some point in our lives.

This happens to everyone. So, if you feel as though you’re alone in this, know that you’re not. It’s a common human experience we all feel.

The quickest and easiest way to get out of it is to tap into something that’s already built in. Something that you’ve already got and always had.

For most of us, what we do is we always try to find a solution  that’s outside of us, the extra add-on.

Using various strategies or techniques, anything we feel will get rid of this feeling.

However, I want to take you back to a core fundamental in your life. In your existence.

Just understand this.

The Prophet (saw)  told us:

أَلاَ كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ

“Each of you is a shepherd”

All of you are leaders, all of you are shepherds, all of you are the people that lead; you’re not sheep.

I say this to my students all the time. I repeat it over and over again because I want you, and the entire Ummah to understand this crucial point.

You as an individual, the one that’s reading this, you are that leader.

The only way that you can tap into that is to actually recognise that it’s there already, it’s always been there. Recognising and embracing this leadership aspect within, means we can break free from the limitations that keep us stuck.

Sometimes, we don’t feel it because we feel we’re making all the wrong decisions. We don’t feel like we’re living our best life.

And, when we get into that place, often there’s a whole host of thoughts behind this thinking.

But not knowing, not accepting, or not stepping into your role as a leader is one of the biggest problems in staying stuck.

So, understand this, when we’re told through Revelation that we are leaders, that means we’re not the sheep. We don’t just go with the flow, we lead from the front.

As leaders we will have anxiety, have stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, not enough time, productivity issues, or procrastination issues.

Understanding this point, helps us to steer clear of trying to make it so good, so perfect, that we actually end up making nothing.

And even if we do, we’re so dissatisfied with it.  We beat ourselves up for it.

It’s completely  normal that a leader would experience these feelings.

You don’t need to expose yourself and show the world that’s who you are. But at the same time, you don’t need to hide yourself in shame, because that’s what we do.

When you hide yourself in shame, you can’t address the issue.

If you can’t address the issue, it’s because you’re burying it under all your thoughts and deep inside your mind.

When it’s buried, we don’t resolve it.

You can achieve the results you want in your life. You can get over the anxiety and the stress.

You can stop being overwhelmed, burnt out, and feeling like it’s a never-ending mountain that you have to climb.

The problem that we have when we bury things inside of us is that we forget who we are.

This is the wake-up call I needed personally.

I needed this and I had one of my people give me a real kick, mentally.

We don’t want to be in the state of just getting by.

We want success. We want achievement and contentment.

All of those things are within your power to attain, it’s the very think Allah speaks about in the Quran, and the Prophet (saw) told us about.

You don’t have to wait for the rest of your life. You don’t have to wait until the end of your life.

You can have it during your life, every day. But in order to do that, you need to take ownership.

Take charge and leadership of yourself and your life.

My clients and students are the most amazing people because they lead themselves.

As a result of leading themselves, they’re able to lead their families, their communities, their companies, and their teams.

You can create the life that you want, it’s totally within your ability to do so.

But you’ve got to lead it. You’re the one that’s in the leadership position. You’re the one in the driver’s seat.

By embracing our inner leadership qualities, recognising our potential, and taking charge of our growth journey, we begin to break free from feeling stuck and transform our lives and the lives of those around us for the better.
