So How do we Change This? 

To change this, we first have to understand it. 

We look at the reasons behind it and the 2 most common ones are the past and the future. 

Our past experiences and what we project in our minds about our future. But not just that, you repeatedly replay those thoughts, and that worsens the anxious feeling. 

We create these horror stories in our mind and it induces fear and uncertainty and inevitably you will feel stressed and anxious. 

When you’re in a constant state of stress, it zaps your energy and you do nothing. You pass up on opportunities. 

You become ratty and agitated and you want to control your behaviour towards others when you feel like this, so you isolate yourself but then when you’re alone, you feel lonely. 

The important thing to realise is that the mind is powerful. It can create different scenarios. 

Most of the time, we focus on the negative scenarios but the mind also creates positive scenarios so we have a choice about what to focus on. 

Don’t allow your thoughts to conquer you or freeze you into inaction. 

You have the power of choice so you can shape your life and your reality. 

The key to understanding anxiety is being able to see what’s causing it and then taking action to change it because there’s always a solution. 

I know this from personal experience. 

I know what you feel in those moments and how it changes your behaviour. I went from an outgoing, confident person to an introvert. 

It’s difficult but there’s a solution.

You may have looked everywhere and haven’t found it yet but I guarantee there’s a solution.

Just like Zahra, a professional, with many responsibilities and a family, struggling with this debilitating anxiety. It impacted her behaviour and it affected her physically. 

Things she could do with ease in the past became challenging for her whenever she needed to do them. 

It would stress her out and she would shy away from others including her family. She would back out of opportunities that were good for her because the fear and the stress just kept growing.

But it’s largely, self-imposed. And because it’s self-imposed we can change it. We can exercise our power of choice. 

Your mind is under your control and your life is within your control. 

If you choose to take control, you can break out of anxiety.

But you have to choose your way out of it. That’s the key.
