Does Allah Even Love His Sinning Servants?

What do we do when we’ve turned away from the obedience of Allah? When we’ve fallen into continual sin?

What do we do when this happens to us? Is there a way to rectify this situation without further exacerbating it or dragging it out?

Repentance (Tawba) is a foundational state of a believer. Every single human is in constant need of returning to Allah & seeking forgiveness for our inevitable transgressions.

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) was sinless, yet he frequently sought forgiveness from Allah as a way to attain happiness and closeness to Him (swt).

So, what about us? We’re constantly falling into acts of disobedience and things that Allah is not happy with.

Ask yourself these questions. Am I repenting to Allah? Am I asking Allah for forgiveness, even five times a day?

It should be habitual, that we turn to Allah (swt) and ask for forgiveness.

Despite all our shortcomings and sins, Allah, the Most Merciful loves His servants. Even when we fall short in our faith and commitments, His (swt) love remains steadfast.

Making Tawba is not just seeking forgiveness, but it’s also a form of spiritual purification. The act of repentance rids the heart and soul of the impurities of sin.

In today’s society, we find many Muslims falling into a state of Zina. I mention Zina specifically because unfortunately this is something prevalent in our times and has become the norm.

Marriage is becoming a thing of the past. Of course, within Islam, that’s not the case for the Muslims.

Marriage is the foundation of the family unit. In fact, marriage is the foundation of society.

In addressing such a serious issue, Allah (swt) tells us that even when we make mistakes, Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and turn back to him in Tawba.

Allah’s mercy encompasses all sins, no matter how distant we may feel, turning back to Allah is always the right choice.

Take immediate action, make a choice to return to Allah! It’s never too late.

The process is simple: make Wudu (ablution), perform two voluntary units of prayer, and sincerely seek Allah’s forgiveness in prostration.

This direct action opens the door to Allah’s mercy.

It puts barriers between you and your sin. Whatever that sin may be, whatever your problem, repentance is the key to solution.

Allah (swt) says in Surah Nuh , verses 10 – 12,

 فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ‎

‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا

And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.

In these verses, we see how repentance leads to abundant blessings from Allah. By turning back to Allah, we can expect an increase in wealth, children, and provisions, both in this world and in the Akhira.

These blessings are what every single human desires!

Take the steps. Stop what you’re doing if you’re in a state of disobedience.

Make Tawba, ask Allah for forgiveness, and then put your hope and trust in Allah that He (swt) will fulfil His promise to you and forgive you.

Your sins cannot never be too big for the Mercy of Allah.

Remember that Allah’s love and mercy far exceed our shortcomings, and are all encompassing.
