Ramadan – Pathway to Spiritual and Mental Transformation

It’s about making the benefits of this spiritual month last throughout the year. 

Think about your last few Ramadans and what it was like for you. Do you grow a little every Ramadan and after? Or don’t you? 

The answer will be different for each one of us but if you didn’t then there’s a reason why. It goes back to the statement of the Prophet (saw).

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) emphasised the importance of intention in our actions.

So set an intention right now that you’re going to have the most profound Ramadan this year and beyond that, you’re going to carry it every month.

This is not about the Ramadan burnout or the highs and lows that we do. We want to avoid this cycle. 

We focus on not just the 30 days of Ramadan but we extend it to the next 12 months.

We want to uplevel our lives, iron out the creases, and overcome the obstacles, and the challenges. We want to get over the fears and the things that hold us back and keep us stuck in our lives.

Imagine Ramadan is like the next step on a flight of stairs. Each Ramadan is like the next step that takes you up.

That’s what you want. 

However, you will be challenged with your habitual thought process.

Many of us struggle with negative thinking. And when your heart and mind are intertwined in a state of negativity it impacts your whole life. 

It impacts your perception of yourself, other people, or the world. You’re going to have a tough time. 

But you want to change that so we set the groundwork for that change. Anyone can do this because Allah (swt)  gives us the ability to do this.

Most of the time we’re just cynical. Not because we want to be but it’s almost like a precondition of your life experiences.

Learning to become empowered as the person that you are is another thing we focus on. Most of us underestimate ourselves and the power that Allah (swt) has given us and when you learn how to do that, it changes everything.
