The Connection – Psychological & Physiological

Focusing on fear, how it impacts us, and how it has such terrible consequences if you sit with it and don’t do anything about it, is something we dive into in this week’s podcast.

After I received a message from one of my coaches I  chose the topic of this week’s podcast.

She started her coaching journey with debilitating fear, numerous medical issues, and lots of physical pain.

As she went through the programme, what we identified in her training, is that she learnt to understand the heart and the mind psychology.

In this programme, we understand psychology through the Science of the Nafs, so you’re understanding it through the Quran and Sunnah.

She became very aware about where the anxiety, the fear and all of the challenges were coming from.

In the medical world, her challenges were considered a functional problem.

But these functional problems are induced by psychological challenges, be it spiritual or psychological, or both.

When we get stuck in them, we have physical reactions.

If you’ve given up on yourself, thought that it can’t be solved, or you can’t ever get relief from this, that’s not true.

Allah (swt); the Creator of you and I has created a solution for absolutely everything, so don’t give up.

Ultimately, what we feel is automatically generated as an emotion and as physical energy from what we think.

Thoughts and emotions directly influence our physical responses.

What we think, generates emotional and physical reactions.

So if you’re thinking, then you’re feeling, and you’re experiencing an energy in your body. It’s directly connected.

If you don’t like the feeling of the energy in your body, then first of all, just tell yourself that you’re going to be alright.

Tell yourself you’ve always been alright, even though you feel the way you do.

“My Creator, the Most Merciful, is looking after me. Even when I feel down, he’s looking after me.”

Remind yourself of that, sit there and ruminate on that one thought, and allow your nervous system to calm down.

When your nervous system is calm, you regain control and the physical tension in your body eases.

The next level is to start changing the content of your mind and your energy.

This is not medical advice, but I suggest you breathe your way through it and you talk your mind through it.

The best thing that you could do in this state is to connect to Allah (swt); and in that state, you will start to be okay.

I’m so grateful that Allah (swt) has given us this, opened up my heart to this, given us this knowledge and understanding, and given us the way to actually resolve problems that seem far more complex than they truly are.

When you use this simple; Revelation-based process to correct the inaccuracies, mental or physical, you start to feel better and you start to flourish and change things for the better.

I teach the Science of the Nafs, but I understand the experience of going through it, the physical pains, and all the physical responses to the psychological state.

I’ve had this for a lifetime, from a very young age. And it forced me to figure out my psychological state.

By recognising the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and physical responses, and by applying the tools of the Science of the Nafs, which is rooted in Quranic principles, we learn to overcome life’s challenges and transform our overall mental and physical health.

You can change anything. You don’t have to be stuck in obstacles.
